This Sunday I ran the Toronto Beer Run, part of the Canadian Beer Run Series (@CanadaBeerRun). I have been running this event since the beginning. Now in it's fourth year in Toronto, this is one of my favourite events of the year.
My friend Tracy likened the race to beer tick-or-treating as we sat enjoying tall cans of 3 Speed at the Amsterdam Brewhouse. They were the house on your street that gives out full-size chocolate bars.
With all of the running I had done in the past few weeks, it was time for a beer (or 12) - and July is the month of beer festivals. My beer girls and I hit 3 of our favourites before resting our livers a bit in August. Here’s a quick run down of where we drank and what my top picks were:

Two weeks later, after some well-deserved rest days, it was time for another race. This time the road led to Niagara Falls, Ontario for the Niagara Falls Women’s Half Marathon. This race was going to be extra special – not only was it Tina’s first half marathon but Leanne was running her 10th. We got off to a rainy start with our disposable ponchos, but the weather cooperated for the most part and we stayed relatively dry for the bulk of the run.
